Mathews County – A Great Place to Ride

Hosted by citizens that welcome cyclists to explore their special paradise.

          • Enjoy a tasty rider’s lunch at Williams Wharf, an historic landing on the East River.
          • Mix and match route choices to create a personal tour.
          • While you are out and about hike the Nature Conservancy’s natural areas along the Chesapeake Bay. See the historical lighthouse which has long been part of Mathew ’s culture.
          • Cross the bridge to Gwynn’s Island, the final stronghold of the Royal Governor, Lord Dunmore, during the Revolutionary War. Stop by and visit the island’s museum.
