Friday, May 14, 2010
4-8:30 p.m. – Join us outside Thomas Hunter Middle School for registration and check-in; Entertainment provided by Carolyn and Mike August; Mathews Welcome Center and Local Vendors will be open
5-7 p.m. – Bike Rodeo for the kids! Located at the Boys and Girls Club (across from THMS); no fee; free helmets to participants who complete the course (while they last); advance registration by Friday, April 23, 2010.
5-8 p.m. – Dinner – Authentic Fiesta Dinner on the Green @THMS ($10.00 prepaid only) – See Food page – YOU DON’T WANT TO MISS THIS!
5:30-7 p.m. – Bay School of the Arts Pig Roast; located on Main Street across from Brickbat Road; $5 suggested donation

7-10 a.m. – Registration/Check-in open (Inside THMS)
6:30-8:30 a.m. – Full hot breakfast served inside THMS ($7.00 each)
8-10 a.m. – All Regular Routes begin; rest stops open
9:00 a.m. – Family Fun Ride Safety Briefing
9:30 Family Fun Ride Opens
11a.m. - Bay Trails Outfitters offer a Paddle and Ride. Stop by on the way to Bethel Beach. See the Activities page for details on how to reserve a space.

10 a.m.-4 p.m. – Free art demonstrations at the Mathews Art Gallery
9 a.m.-4 p.m. - Farmers Market and Arts and Crafts Demonstrations – located on the Court Green
10:30 a.m. -2:30 p.m. – Lunch provided at Williams Wharf Landing by Olivia’s; music provided by Toby and Larry – see food page
Noon-4 p.m. – Neck and Shoulder Massage – small fee at THMS
1-4 p.m. – Environmental displays including rain barrels, wind/solar power, Cyclists for the Bay, native plants, and bee keeping available at Central UMC on Church Street; classical entertainment provided.
2-7 p.m. – Sausage and Beer Fest – Tickets $25; available in advance and at the gate (while they last) – proceeds benefit the Mathews Rotary Club – behind Mathews Memorial Library; Mercy Creek providing entertainment; 20 Chesapeake Bay microbrews available; call 804-725-9685 for reservations
4-7 p.m. – Wine Tasting at the White Dog Inn; $10 per person with full glasses of wine at $5/glass; cheese, fruit and special appetizers are included; the Tanner Creek Whalers will provide entertainment; call 804-725-7680 for tickets.
3 - 5 p.m. – Strawberry Shortcake Dessert for Registered Full Tour cyclists; located on the court green
4-6 p.m. – Movie (Breaking Away – Rated PG) will be shown on the 3rd floor of the Halcyon Building (corner of Court and Church); free; refreshments for sale
4-8 p.m. – BBQ dinner (pre-ordered or on-site pick up while available) at the corner of Court Street and Brickbat Road; or enjoy local restaurants open for dinner (www.visitmathews.com/restaurants)
5 p.m. – All Routes Close
5-8 p.m. – Free Concert by Easy Street Bluegrass on the Court Green – bring a chair or blanket and enjoy!!
8-10:30 p.m. – Donk’s Theater, Virginia’s Li’l Ole Opry, Mathews’ own Country Music Venue will provide a concert featuring Troy Hedspeth; Tickets available at the Mathews Visitor Center or at the box office; Box office opens at 7:30 p.m.; Show starts at 8 p.m.; Tickets are $12 for adults, $2 for children 12 and under; Popcorn, candy and sodas available, no alcohol please. 8-11:30 p.m. – Southwind Pizza will offer entertainment by Bill Gurley along with their great menu items and beer/wine.

8-9:30 a.m. – Full Hot breakfast available at the Westville Christian Church, Main Street (reservations requested; walk-ins welcome) - $5 purchase at time of registration – The BEST deal in town and GREAT food! Sign up when you register for your ride!
9 a.m.-1 p.m. – Special Canoe trip led by Brooke Newton of the Chesapeake Bay Foundation; Starting and ending at Williams Wharf Landing (Route 614); $20 fee including a lunch on-site upon return; Space is limited so sign up early! 9:30 a.m.-11:30 a.m. – Special 15-mile Chesapeake Bay Foundation Ride starting at the Poddery where there will be a tour of the facility and shopping available; Led by Jess Barton of the CBF with a historic narrative about Mobjack Bay! Contact Jess Barton for details at mailto:JBarton@cbf.org

9 a.m.-1 p.m. - “No Frills Rides” – Ride routes not yet experienced like Gwynn’s Island (Gwynn’s Island Museum) or Mobjack (The Poddery)
- Take a ride with Mathews’ local bike group starting at Liberty Square at 2 p.m. (www.mathewsfreewheelers.org)
- Visit the Mathews Co. Visitors Center for shopping from the “all things Mathews gallery” line of items and for gathering information on other scenic sites and activities in Mathews.
- Demonstrations at the Mathews Art Gallery from 1-4 p.m.
- Join Bay Trails Outfitters and go on a guided kayaking tour on the Bay at New Point Lighthouse. See the Activities page for details on how to reserve a space.
- Enjoy fresh local seafood and other delicious treats at Mathews’ numerous restaurants in town and beyond
- Worship at one of Mathews’ numerous churches (www.visitmathews.com/Directories/churches.htm)
- See Mathews by Water – www.visitmathews.com for opportunities
- Visit Mathews Artists. Visit the Poddery, www.thepoddery.com; Garden Creek Artistic Design Studio, www.artisticdesignstudio.com – two extremely popular studios open from 10 a.m.-4 p.m.
